If your dishwasher, shower door or shower head are blocked or your shower isn’t cleaning as well as it used too, hard water could be an issue.
The water softeners hub can be a great solution. We will discuss the benefits of watersofteners and why hardwater is harmful for your home.
Hardwater problems
Too many minerals and metals can cause hard water. These metals are formed when groundwater dissolves and absorbs the soil and rocks around it. GPG (Grains Per Gallon) or mg/L (Military grams Per Liter) are two ways to measure water hardness. A grain is defined by 64.8 mgs calcium carbonate. Soft water is defined as water with less than 1 GPG. Hard water has approximately 7-10.5 GPG.
Hard water can lead to calcium and magnesium precipitate (scale) buildup inside pipes, water heaters, industrial machinery, and other equipment. Scale can block pipes, reduce heat conduction, and decrease water flow. Hard water can reduce soap’s ability to lather and can react with soap to form a sticky, scum-like substance.
What it does
Water softeners are a great way of getting rid of hard water in your home or office. The principle behind a water softener is that calcium and magnesium will exchange places with ions that create soft water (i.e. sodium, etc.). It is very low in sodium and well below FDA standards.
